By the end of the 5th grade string curriculum, students will:
- be able to play keys with up to 3 sharps or 2 flats
- be able to play in a variety of time signatures
- be able to play more complex rhythms, including sixteenth notes, dotted rhythms, and simple syncopations.
- continue to demonstrate good playing position
- continue to increase right hand (bow) technique, including spiccato and hooked bowing.
- begin to learn the fundamentals of tuning
- be prepared to enter Grade 6 orchestra!
